The models have been designed using complex state-of-the-art computer programmes for calculating tensile strength, based on the calculation of stiffness, where rotation and joint displacement are unknowns, expressing the internal stress of the bars in function of these, using the different stiffness involved in each unit.

The equilibrium of the structure is maintained through the equilibrium equations of the joints. Once all the joint displacements and rotations are known, the interior stresses are calculated.

The recommendations of the European Convention for metal structures have been achieved:

-Spanish Standard: UNE 76-208-92
-European Standard: CEN-TC 284

As a guide and depending upon the geographical location of the zone where they are to be assembled, MSC greenhouses are able to withstand winds of up to 120 km/hour and snow and crop loads of 40 kgs/m2.

Calculations have been made assuming the greenhouse to be TOTALLY CLOSED (doors, side and zenithal windows), as with any other type of construction in order that it might withstand said loads.
